The deadline for parents of primary school children to apply for a Nerrols Primary School is fast approaching! Applications for reception year pupils who would like to start in September this year will need to be in by next Tuesday (15th January 2019).
Our £7m new school is being built in Cheddon Fitzpaine, north Taunton, to deal with the growing need for school places as a result of new homes being built in the area. We’re due to open in September 2019 with 30 reception places,15 places for Years 1 & 2 and a nursery for 2-4 year olds. Other years will be rolled out in stages, eventually taking on 420 pupils.
Over the Christmas period the main structure of the building was completed and the roof is due to be in place by the end of January. There will be 14 classrooms on the 2.7 acre site, which will include outdoor play areas and a 3G sports pitch. On the two floors there will be two classes in each year group, each with a maximum of 30 pupils, along with a ground floor nursery for 26 pre-schoolers.
The Executive Head Teacher, Mike Snowden, said: “We are very excited to be getting close to the deadline day. I have had lots of interest from parents, who are really enthused by the prospect of joining our amazing new school; so that their children can make the most of all the opportunities it will bring.
“The learning spaces are going to be ideal for structured and creative educational opportunities. The outdoor space will have room for play, sports and social interaction. We are also so lucky to be located next to a country park where the children can do forest school activities. All in all, this is an incredible opportunity for some very lucky children!”
The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Tuesday 15th January. See www.nerrolsprimary.co.uk/admissions to complete the form. Parents can only apply to Nerrols Primary this way.
