Voyagers are studying World War 2 this term. We will be looking at the timeline of the events that led up to the war, and the then the key events in the war itself. The class will be identifying questions that interest them and then researching the answers. They will need to use their judgement to evaluate any evidence they find for bias and decide of it is primary or secondary evidence.
We will be using Carrie’s War as our class text and watching the TV series from 1974 to improve our understanding of how authors use character in story telling. The novel will also be helping us with some fiction writing later in the term.
We will continue the World War 2 theme in Art and DT classes as we look at poppies for Remembrance Day. What would you make a poppy from and why? Did you make a good choice? How could you improve your design?
