History- Maafa

This project teaches children about Africa past and present, with a particular focus on Benin. It traces the development of the slave trade and explores Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, the causes and consequences of the European colonisation of Africa and the worldwide communities that make up the African diaspora.

Geography- Frozen Kingdoms

This project teaches children about the characteristics and features of polar regions, including the North and South Poles, and includes a detailed exploration of the environmental factors that shape and influence them.

Art and Design- Inuit

This project teaches children about the Inuit way of life, including some of their cultural and artistic traditions.

Art and Design- Trailblazers

This project teaches children about significant black artists and their work, and provides opportunities to analyse and create artwork inspired by them.

Computing- Networks

An introduction to the concept of networks, learning how devices communicate. From identifying components, learn how information is shared and deepen this understanding by exploring examples of real world networks.

Computing- Programming: Scratch

Learning how to use loops to program an animation, a story and a game in Scratch.

Computing- Online Safety

Learning how to keep information safe and private online; who we should ask before sharing things online and how to give, or deny permission online.

PSHE- Family and Relationships

Learning how to resolve relationship problems; effective listening skills and about non-verbal communication. Looking at the impact of bullying and what action can be taken; exploring trust and who to trust and that stereotyping can exist.

PSHE- Citizenship

Learning about children’s rights; exploring why we have rules and the roles of local community groups, charities and recycling and an

introduction to local democracy.
